Franklin Duncan: Loris
1939 – 2017
Franklin Duncan of Loris passed away on Tuesday, June 27 at McLeod Loris hospital following an illness. He was 67.
Born March 16, 1949 in Loris, he was the son of the late Doctor Buren Duncan and the late Nell Mercer Duncan.
Mr. Duncan owned a trucking company, was a farmer and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Fowler Duncan of the home; one son, Frank Duncan and wife, Beth of St. Augustine, Florida; one daughter, Tara Duncan Jackson and husband, Jamie of Charleston; six grandchildren, Grace Jackson, Moli Jackson, Chloe Jackson, Mia Duncan, Ty Duncan and Gabriel Duncan; two brothers, Van Duncan and wife, Becky of Loris, and Howard Duncan and wife, Fredna of Sellers; and special half-sister, Gladys Cooper of Loris.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Duncan was predeceased by two half-brothers, A.J. Duncan and Johnnie Earl Duncan.
Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Thursday, June 29 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Kaleb Gerald and Rev. Heath Faircloth officiating, committal services following at the Twin City Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Family planned to receive friends during the hour prior to the funeral at the church.
