Vina Ann Fowler: Loris

1922 – 2017

     Vina Ann Fowler of Loris died Sunday, Sept. 3, in Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach. She was 95.

     Born Feb. 10, 1922 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late William Jackson Long and Ella Bell Fowler Long and the widow of George Lloyd Fowler.

     She was a member of Dogwood Hill Baptist Church, Loris.

     She is survived by a son, Ken Fowler of Dunedin, Florida; two daughters, Judy Boyer Teresa Davis of Loris; nine grandchildren, Richard Fowler, Jeri Stalvey, Lora Lafferty, Gregory Fowler, Chris Tyree, Jamie Tyree, Richie Fowler, Patrick Fowler, Elizabeth Fowler; 17 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

     In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Jimmy Lloyd Fowler; twin daughters Shelvy Jean Fowler and Bobbie Jean Fowler Tyree; a brother, Harvey Long; a sister, Hessie Fowler; and a granddaughter, Shelvy Fowler.

     Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, in Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City.
