Chellie Elizabeth Gerald Todd: Loris

1927 – 2017

     Chellie Elizabeth Gerald Todd of Loris passed away Sunday, Sept. 3, at McLeod Loris hospital. She was 89.

     Mrs. Todd was born Dec. 14, 1927 in Loris, daughter of the late Lucien Cornelius Gerald and the late Blantie Moore Gerald. Mrs. Todd was a loving homemaker and a longtime active member of Cherry Hill Baptist Church.

     Survivors include her son, Layne Todd and wife, Davona of Loris; three daughters, Delila Lee and husband, Douglas, Janice Fowler and husband, Eldred and Sybil Allen and husband, James all of Loris; two brothers, Eldred Gerald and wife, Susan of Little River and Larry Gerald and wife, Loretta of Loris; two sisters, Christine Page and Elnita Chestnut both of Loris; two sister-in-law’s, Gladys Canady of Loris and Dorenda Long of Wilmington; 14 loving grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Todd was predeceased by her husband, Donnie Horry Todd; five brothers, Cleland Gerald, Barsie Gerald, J. O. Gerald, Howard Gerald and L. C. Gerald, Jr.; and one sister, Wilma Booth.

     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at Cherry Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Brandon Jones, Rev. Ragsdale Allsbrook and Rev. Alvin Jackson officiating. Committal services followed at Cherry Hill Cemetery.
