Theresa Martha Whaley: Nakina

1927 – 2018

     Theresa Martha Whaley of Nakina died Tuesday, Feb. 6, in Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter, Whiteville. She was 90.

     Born Aug. 23, 1927 in Independence, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Paul Pampuch and Valeria Progreba Pampuch and the widow of Winfield Whaley.

     She is survived by two daughters, Judith Saez of Clearwater, Florida and Cheryl Hooks of Nakina; one brother, Clarence Pampuch of Stevens Point, Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and special friend Loretta Braxton.

     In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon Nicholson; two sons, Scott Whaley and Daniel Whaley; five brothers, Herman, Ralph, Paul, Marcel and Roman; four sisters, Ruth Miller, Eleanor Zylla, Delores Stikl and Monica Brown.

     Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, in Inman Ward Funeral Home, Tabor City.

     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following in the Whaley Family Cemetery.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Inman Ward Funeral Home, 300 East 5Th Street, Tabor City, NC, in memory of Theresa Martha Whaley.
