Bonnie Lanier: Clarendon

1943 – 2020

     Bonnie Lanier of Clarendon died Sunday, June 14, in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center of Whiteville. She was 76.

     Born July 13, 1943 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late William Golespie Norris and Hettie Strickland Norris.

     She is survived by her husband, Thurman Odell Lanier of Clarendon; two sons, Chad Lanier and wife Heather, Chris Lanier and wife Traci, all of Wilmington; a brother, Rudolph Norris of Columbia, South Carolina; four sisters, Ruthene Barefoot of Wilmington, Ruby Smith of Fairmont, Martha Davis of Winston Salem, and Mary Parker of Tabor City; and two grandchildren, Logan Lanier and Lucas Lanier.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Isaac Norris, Joe Norris and Royce Norris.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Thursday, June 18, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following in Cribbtown Cemetery.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding the service in the chapel.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Welcome Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, 3104 Old Cribbtown Rd., Chadbourn, NC 28431.
