Edna Grey Singletary: Tabor City

1935 – 2024

     Edna Grey Singletary of Tabor City died Friday, July 5. She was 88.

     Born in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Chester Grey Jenrette and Gertrude Louvenia Register Jenrette. She was the widow of Luther George Singletary.

     She is survived by two daughters, Althea Elliott of Supply and Theresa Buck (Anthony) of Tabor City; two sons, Mark Singletary (Crystal) and Mike Singletary of Tabor City; one brother, CG Jenrette of Tabor City; thirteen grandchildren, Pam, Johnnie Jr., Stephanie, Jim, Chris, Jeffery, Austin, Mark Edward, Tristan, Laney, Tim, Gina, Ashlyn; seventeen great grandchildren, Chet, Steven, Luke, Madelyn, Kate, Megan, Charlotte, Emma, Tyler, Abby, Hunter, Jaxon, Blake, Rylan, Nolen, Mia, and Mallory.

     In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry Lynn Singletary and George Stephen Singletary; and one granddaughter, Tina Lynn Pack.

     Visitation was planned from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 8, in Inman Ward Funeral Home.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, in Dulah Missionary Baptist Church, burial following in the church cemetery.
