Candis Kathleen Soles Jernigan: Green Sea

1932 – 2017

    Candis Kathleen Soles Jernigan of Green Sea, passed away on Monday, Jan. 30, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence. She was 84.
    Mrs. Jernigan was born on Dec. 16, 1932 in Tabor City, daughter of the late Solon Soles and the late Lettise Clidy Duncan Soles.
    Mrs. Jernigan retired as a home health nurse and was a longtime member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher.
     Survivors include her son, Sam Jernigan and wife, Nanette of Green Sea; two grandchildren, Samantha Jernigan Crowe and husband, Robert of Apex, and Sam Alan Jernigan of Rock Hill, and three great-grandchildren; Katelin Crowe, Robbie Crowe and Andrew Jernigan.
     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jernigan was predeceased by her husband, Gary Jernigan; her son, Jimmy S. Jernigan; her daughter, Tammy Jernigan and nine siblings, Doris Dean Capps, William Horace Soles, Betty Aline Butler, Lula Mae Grainger, Edward Earl Soles, Dorothy Pearl Soles, Anna Belle Hodge, Rosa Nell Edwin and Eula Marie Nelson.
     Memorial services were planned for 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Pastor Jack Moody officiating, committal services following at the Jernigan Family Cemetery.
    Visitation was planned for the hour prior to the service at the church.
