Anna Margarete Lehmann Hughes Gasque: Loris

1944 – 2017

    Anna Margarete Lehmann Hughes Gasque of  Loris, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Angel House Hospice Care Center in Whiteville. She was 73.
    She was born on Jan. 29, 1944 in Budingen, Germany,  daughter of the late Samuel Lehmann and the late Gretel Exter Lehmann.
    Mrs. Gasque worked with Marlene Industries for twenty-five years and was a supervisor at the time of her retirement. She was a longtime member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and will be most remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
     Survivors include her two loving daughters, Sandy Franklin and husband, Ronnie and Susi Hughes all of Loris; step-daughter, Annette Brown and husband, Richard of Cottageville; one brother, Thomas Lehmann of Germany; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gasque was predeceased by her first husband, Douglas McArthur Hughes, her second husband, Douglas McArthur Gasque, her daughter, Janet “Jan” Ann Hughes Parkinson and one brother, Herbert Lehmann.
     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at Hardwick Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Hughes officiating. Committal services will follow at the Hughes Family Cemetery in the Mt. Vernon community of Loris.
    Family planned to receive friends from 1:30 until the time of service at Hardwick Funeral Home.
    The family requests that memorials be made to the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach, P.O. Box 3369, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582 or to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
