1949 – 2017

     Wilson Butler of Charlotte, formerly of Tabor City, died Thursday, May 11, in Charlotte. He was 67.
     Surviving are his wife, Winnie Johnson Butler; daughters, Danita Coleman and Diniesha Baker of Charlotte, and Donata Gerald of Raleigh; sons, Joshua Canady of Jacksonville, Aaron Canady of Japan, Julius Jones of High Point, and Danielle Mayes of Loris; sisters, Peggy White of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Margaret Miller of High Point, Judy Boyd and Connie Grate of Tabor City; brothers, Jimmy Butler of Riverdale, Maryland, Jessie Butler of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Wilbur Butler of Tabor City, and Russell Butler of Bowie, Maryland.?
    Viewing was planned from noon to 7 p.m. Monday, May 15, at Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville; and from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, at First Baptist Missionary Church in Tabor City.
    Visitation was planned from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 15, at People’s Funeral Home, Whiteville.
    Funeral services were planned for 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, at First Baptist Missionary Church, Tabor City. Burial, with military honors, was to follow in the Columbus County Singing Union Cemetery, Tabor City.
