John Belton Brockman Jr.,: Greer

1922 – 2017

    John Belton Brockman Jr., of Greer went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, April 19. He was 94.
    A lifetime resident of Spartanburg County, he was born May 19, 1922 to the late JB Brockman Sr. and Mamie Bearden Brockman. He valiantly served his country in the army during WW II in the China Burma India theatre.  He had met the love of his life, Louise Cox, daughter of the late Cleveland Cox of Tabor City, while at college and they married shortly after his return from the war. They celebrated 71 years of marriage this year. He was a devoted servant of the Lord and a true model of a Christian husband and father. 
Besides his wife, John B. is survived by four children; five grandsons; two great-grandchildren; one brother and many nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 21, at Bellview Baptist Church by Rev. Carey Caldwell.  Interment followed in the church cemetery.
