Mildred McCumbee Prince: Tabor City

1928 – 2017

     Mildred McCumbee Prince of Tabor City passed away Tuesday, May 23 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Angel House in Whiteville. She was 89.
     Born on Jan. 31, 1928 in Rockingham, she was the daughter of the late Archie Hebron McCumbee and the late Juanita Grice McCumbee.
     Mrs. Prince was a loving homemaker who enjoyed farming and was a member of Emmanuel Holiness Church in Tabor City.
     Survivors include her son, Richard Prince and wife, Sandra of Tabor City; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; one brother, Bobby Gene McCumbee of Tabor City, and two sisters, Lilly G. Strickland and Mae Clemmons both of Loris.
     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Prince was predeceased by her grandson, Richard Neil Prince, II; one brother, Billy McCumbee and one sister, Doris Miller.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Thursday, May 25, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Reverend Roger Small officiating. Committal services followed at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Tabor City.
